Bump on Bottom Lip

I just wanted to ask if anyone else had the same condition as I do. I don't know exactly when but I have noticed in the past few weeks, 2 bumps on my lower lip. They're somewhat near the mouth opening, not near the corner of my mouth. One is bigger than the other. I cannot see the one which is the bigger one, but I do seem to see a tiny white speck where the other bump is. They are not very painful unless I touch them with my toungue all day. I wear braces and I have noticed that my lip rubs on them quite a bit, even though my braces are on the top set of teeth. I don't know if this is something to grow concern over or not. Could someone please offer me some suggestions as to what might be causing this. I know that I've been getting some sores in the back of my mouth on my cheeks because the wire from the braces is cutting the sides but I don't know if they are the culprit of these bumps in my lip.

I thank you in advance for any response I may receive!

Good Morning Starstrukd,
since you came on to this website you have a little worry that your problem might be something sinister so let's clear a couple of points.Firstly the incidence of mouth cancer is ,whilst not exactly unknown ,not very common. The second point is, if it is detected early it is easily dealt with it only becomes a problem when diagnosis is delayed.so you go and see the dentist, not next month or when it is convenient, within the next seven days....please.
in the meantime don't let it worry you.please let us know how you get on.
Keep Smiling Razzer

Thank you John!

I appreciate your response. I do actually have a dental appointment coming up in 4 days. I will ask him at that time what he thinks about them. Thank you very much. I will keep you posted.

Hello starstrukd

It is probably just local irritation from the your braces but do let us know what your dentist says. Vigilance is no sin. Smiler

Best wishes
