Knot on gumGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
About a month ago I had the worst head cold I have ever had in my life. It was in my sinus and my teeth and mouth hurt so bad from the pressure I could barely stand it. (My son had the cold too so I am sure it was just a cold.) Well, the cold and sinus went away. After it went away I noticed I had a knot on my upper gum us far up as you can go in the fold of my lip and gum right above my eye tooth. Well, the knot has been there ever since and has gotten bigger. It is now bigger than a pea. It is very hard and doesn't hurt to touch it. I notice on the other side there is a vein or tendon or something there. The knot is where that vein or whatever is. I have all of my teeth capped and None of my teeth hurt. I feel fine, I just have this BIG knot. Any thoughts?

Hi KC Hope you don't mind if I use your first name. The best advice I can give is to see your doctor or dentist as soon as possible, if only to rule out cancer. If the news is good, the sooner you can relax. If, heaven forbid, the news is bad, the sooner you get started the sooner it will be over. Let us know how things turn out. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos!

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I know I should go to the doctor. I just keep hoping it will go away.

Hello KC I suggest that you see your dentist for a diagnosis as capped teeth sometimes die a quiet death and give rise to a lump. Let us know how you get on.
