Hey, I just wanted to find out something from the net tonight because my doctor seems to have no time to spend diagnosing me.
First, he says I have tonsillitis. And, yes, I do have all the symptoms. But, I also have an agonizing sore in my mouth that is really getting me worried. The sore formed in a spot where I used to use tobacco. The color is somewhat brown. But, the spot looks like a scratch from, say, a toothbrush. However, I did not do that or anything else for that matter, except use something stupid such as tobacco in the past. If this is a common sore do to tonsillitis, how long till it goes away? If the infection from the tonsillitis is contageous to other locations of my mouth, is that normal?
Secondly, if I have cancer, is it possible the tonsillitis is from cancer? I just looked at numerous photos of mouth cancer and none seem to look like what is in my mouth. However, I am no expert on the matter. Symptoms for Tonsillitis: sore throat, sore on left tonsil(only), swollen gland under jaw bone, fatique, laziness, and occasional short lasting headaches. Symptoms for sore in mouth: Circular abbrasion, spot seems to be slightly indented, very painful, hurts for water to pass by the spot(or food) except for milk and salt water(salt seems to take out the pain), brownish color with a little white(the color is mainly normal), hard to eat and drink on that side of mouth. Anyways, if anyone needs specific answers to questions, I will reply ASAP. Sorry, if this post bothers anyone I am just a little scared right now. Thanks to everyone who helps.

Hi David

You can get a mouth ulcer if your body resistance is lowered by your tonsillitis , as when one gets a 'cold' sore Frowner .

Your ulcer and tonsillitis should improve over 10-14 days Smiler . If your tonsillitis doesnt get better, see your doctor again.

Meanwhile, get some rest and hope you get better.

Best wishes
