Hi
I am posting coz I am a bit anxious and need some advice and it looks like a good place to find that. For medical background (as it is complicated!)I am a 38 yr old woman with type 1 diabetes for 26 years. I also suffer with reflux (on meds),gastroparesis (on meds), mild asthma (on preventor), fibromyalgia, neuropathy in arms, chronic carpal tunnel (had 2 unsucessful surgeries)and small joint arthropapthies in my hands. I have also had a large infected keratocyst removed from my upper jaw 3 years ago and it took ages for diagnosis as I had to keep going back and back to say something was not right. I also have had my tonsils removed due to chronic tonsilitis and have had 2 sinus surgeries. I have TMJ and pain in the jaw, especially the right side for many years and it clicks and gets stuck. It is also the right side the keratocyst was on and that has a very high recurrance rate and is being followed by oral surgeon. Now, to the throat - I have had a sore area post pharyngeal area, the past 6 months or so, which has come and gone and at times been worse than others. It is very specific and almost feels like an ulcer, but becoz it is so far down you can not see it. It hurts when I swallow and eat hard foods and hot drinks. I have had glands coming up on my neck over as period of months and a few sort of sores coming on my neck too at times that take ages to heal. I have been anemic for months and just had an iron infusion and endocsocpy and colonoscopy which were fine. I came home and last week my throat was sore and I thought this was due to the endoscopy (by the way I did not tell gastro about the throat and he did not look that area)but it got worse and I felt ill and then a gland behind my ear popped out and my ear was heaps sore and then it moved down and the glands in my chin came up really tight and sore and the throat was worse and had a sore in my nose. I have had headaches and pain in the right side of my face and just feel ill. Saw the dr last week who could not see anything and gave antibiotics. This has settled the glands under the chin but the ones in the neck area are still enlarged and the throat still hurts in that specific spot no change with antiobiotics. I stcuk my finger right down there and there is a little lump exactly where it hurts and it is hard but you can push it in a little and this is definitely where the pain stems from. My voice has been hoarse and gets tired especially by the end of the day which is getting me down as I am doing singing and the teacher says I have so much potential and I have wanted this for my whole life and now I haev throat troubles. I am sick of being sick! I am seeing ENT next week but am worrying about cancer possibility. I have had both genital warts and herpes in the past which I have read can be connected to oral cancer and also used to smoke tobacco and marijuana and drink excessivly, but have not done so for at least 6 years.

what do you think??
thanks
Helga
