I have had an ent biopsy the base of my tongue, scope me 3 times once while getting the biopsy, a ct scan, and just recently had a biopsy of the lymph nodes in my neck by a surgeon, he didn't remove all of the lyph tissue because of its location he said but he took about 1.5 cm. Everything has come out negative for cancer so, even though I still have some throat, shoulder and ear discomfort, at whar point should I just forget about it. I am starting to wonder if I am just being a hypochondriac. Wouldn't it be extremely rare to have the workup I have gotten so far and miss the diagnosis?
Thank you.

Hello Ronnie

There is only so much one can do. You have had the investigations, so you have done what you can. Now you need to relax and hope the discomfort will pass - ask your ENT specialist for advice.

Best wishes

Going for a secod opinion on the third of august.will be going to
Last time I saw the ENT he thinks that I have some sort of infection in my lingual tonsil but I cant believe it hasn't cleared up in 9 months!
I will be going to Oklahoma University medical center and hope they can tell me for sure.
Is it possible that I could have an infection walled off or something that would last that long? Thanks.

Hello Ronnie,

Do not know if you will post to this or not because it has been awhile since you posted. But your condition sounds a lot like mine.

Please read the post under futurehope.

Any help would be appreciated on what you found out finally and what your steps were in taking care of finally finding the cause of the lymph node being inflamed / swollen.

Thank you very much!!

Brenda
