Hi,

I had white patches in my inner cheek and I had biopsy on 18th of may 2010. I am waiting for my result. I had also some brown patches in my another cheek. Doctor told me that this is Racial Pigmentation and it may be with me forever. I hared about malignant melanoma in oral cavity and it is appear like that , I am really worried about it. I am having a pain in cheek, jaw and ear. It is left side where Brown pathces appear. I am really worried about it. This pain is on and off like pain. I am having a pain since last one week. I also have some changed voice but it is clear within hours. I have another appointment on 30Th June 2010. Should I call doctor and inform about my pain, should I go to my GP but he always saying that he doesn’t know about it and wait for biopsy result.

It is not possible to diagnose your pain over the Internet. There are many causes, some self-inflicted through clenching activity. You will find the advice given on clenching and bruxism useful. Please see your doctor if it gets worse.

Take your surgeon's advice on the brown patches but be sensible and always keep an eye on things without getting overly anxious.
