Bumps on roof of mouth

I have at least 4 bumps on the roof of my mouth that I can feel with my tongue. I showed them to the dentist who has been working on my implants (my front 2 teeth) and that dentist didn't seem concerned, saying it was the normal structure of the palate. But if this is normal, why hasn't it been like this all my life? I noticed them about half a year ago (sometime after reconstructive gum surgery, where that dentist had removed tissue from the left side of the palate to place it above the two front teeth). The bumps haven't disappeared, but they are not painful and don't seem to have grown or changed either. Is it possible to have bumps on the roof of your mouth, that are not cancerous?
Also, since late September I have had terrible nasal obstruction (with allergy-like symptoms but I can't pinpoint that I'm actually allergic to anything). Can the bumps on my palate be related to the increased mucus and sneezing?
Of course I'm planning on seeing someone soon, I'm waiting on my health insurance to get set up, as I just moved to a new country. In the meantime, I'm worried and wondered if anyone can offer advice.
Thanks....
