Hi Dr. Vinod..

Yep that's what she said, that's what you said also, you clever thing! She also mentioned that another one will return!!!! But how can that be, if she has taken away the dodgy gland, or has she? Anyway my mouth is still very tender although the swelling has almost gone and believe it or not there seems to be a phantom lump there, where the cyst was aargh! Hoping that disappears, do you know if it will? Thank you. elkiepops

Hi everyone, How are you John? everything go the right way? Hope so, Take care. My lump will eventually disappear, it is scar tissue I was told, so have to be patient. And that is the end of my tale, but thank you to all who contributed a reply when I asked a worried or two questions, keep up the good work. Bye

Good Morning Elkiepops,
Good to hear that you seem to be "on the mend" I hope things continue in that direction for you,let us know from time to time how you are.My 56 day check was not quite so positive so I have to go back at 28 days (next wednesday)so Damocles is dangling his sword once more, you would think that after 3000 years or so he would be a bit fed up of his stunt with the sword.

Hello Barbarai

These mucoceles tend to occur as a rection to trauma like lip chewing. Usually if the damaged minor salivary gland is removed sugically, the problem is resolved unless the surgery damages another!

It is very important that your daughter leaves her lower lip well alone. Otherwise, the chance of success is compromised.

The only good news I can give you is that I have never seen a pastient with a mucocele from the teens persisting into adulthood!

Hope that helps.

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee
