Hello
I'm 15 and I dipped Smokeless Tobacoo for 3 months (Bascially just during the summer holidays) I quit last month when I noticed a very very small white lump on the top of my lower lip, now, no one could notice it if I didn't point it out, it's not in the lip where the snuff would go, it's bascially right on the top, I actually felt it appear as well, I felt tingling in my lip and all the sudden it kinda poped up, it's about the size of a point end of a tac. Should I be worrying about it or what? Also, many people dip snuff on each side of my family, my cousin chewed Copenhagen since he was 8 and now he's 21 and he is fine, so I dunno if it would effect me from only doing it 3 months or anything. |

Hello Brandon
Tobacco chewing increases your risk of mouth cancer, so please stop it. The white spot (?dry skin) on your lip is most probably not mouth cancer, so relax but keep an eye on it - it should go away in the next few weeks. Follow my advice given in this earlier post on tobacco chewing. Let us know how you get on.
