Hello Eileen Smiler

:soapbox: Early diagnosis is not only the best chance for a cure but also results in less extensive treatment.

All patients need time to let it sink in and decide themselves if they want the treatment offered. A biopsy is needed to exclude cancer.

Only when there is a diagnosis, can there be an informed decision about whether to accept the treatment offered or take the risk. The decision would depend on the extent of treatment required, quality of life afterwards, general health and age.

Not all small lesions turn into cancer and not all cancers will grow aggressively, some can remain in the mouth for years without problems Wink .You will find this online book """The Other Face of Cancer, Cancer: Myths and Realities of Cause and Cure""" of interest. Big Grin

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:

Dear Doctor

I really must thank you for your replies you spell everything out so well and simply if only consultants could take a leaf out of your book Your quite right we, should all have the facts and then make a decision not feel bullied about going into surgery especially when you know of d]feel what is right for you I always say we all know our own bodies better than anyone else. and time should be given to think and make a decision. I am so angry with myself for not saying No I dont want anything done please leave me alone I am fit and healthy and as long as I stay feeling that way I want no treatment so the i in4 lesions turning to cancer is correct. Thanks for your kind comments
