Last evening on the french TV, I heard of "auriculotherapy", a kind of accupuncture in the hear. They were saying that it was a useful tool to recover saliva after radiotherapy.
Did anyone tried and can tell me if it's really useful?

Acupuncture Eases Radiation-Induced Dry Mouth
quote:
The traditional Chinese medical technique of acupuncture may safely help patients whose radiation treatments cause extreme dry mouth, or xerostomia.

M. D. Anderson researchers reported the results of the pilot study in the April online edition of Head and Neck.

I have been having ear acupuncture for quite some time - it was developed originally on the battlefields of Vietnam I think. I have founf it very good, the effects are not instant but build up over time for me - about 4 weeks. I reallt noticed it over the Xmas period when I couldn't see my acupuncturist for some three weeks, I really started to notice how dry my motuh was becoming. I can go through the whole night now without having to wake up to drink.
