My husband is a relatively healthy 53 year old. About a month ago he showed me a lump the size of about a grape on the side of his tongue. He went to on call dr. after a month of it not going away. That dr. sent him to ENT dr. who took biopsy last week. We are still waiting and no one will let him no anything over the phone if the results are back. We are both terrified, we have younger children and this would be devasting for us. He does have the risk factor of cancer in his family (his mother had breast and uterine cancer that went into lymph nodes) ad he drinks one mixed drink ever night with dinner. How scared should we be? | |||

Hello Kimberly There is no diagnosis until the result of the biopsy is known. There may other growths than can occur and they are not cancer. So my advice is to relax and get on with things as best as you can (not easy, but do try). Let us all hope for good news that it isn't a tongue cancer. But if it is, we will all be here to support you.
