Hi all,
Are there any suggestions re exercises during / post radiotherapy treatment. I see that the THERABITE has been used - can this be provided by NHS or do we have to self fund. Cheers G |

Hello ngary
There is much information on the MCF website on complications related to treatment that you should be aware of so that you can avoid some of them like the 'radiation' caries and trismus that can occur and worsen without preventive measures. Try the oral motor exercises. Ask your doctor for the Therabite to be provided on the NHS if your jaw opening is becoming restricted. If you need it, it shouldn't be optional! See: past discussions on Therabite You will find these past messages on 'tongue exercises' of interest. You can search past discussions using the search facility for topics like 'oral hygiene' and 'speech' and 'eating' and more. If you have any questions, just ask and someone with some experience will reply sooner or later.
