Strange symptom in mouth/lower jaw

I've been experiencing a strange symptom that went away for a few months and just recently came back. The left side of my lower lip/jaw area closer to the chin has been bothering me with what sometimes presents itself as an annoying pain, other times as something more like a numbness. I quit dipping over a year ago, dipping on and off for 2-2.5 years. The side that bothers me was the side where I usually placed the tobacco. Also, if I run my fingers over the left side of my lower cheek when the symptoms are present, that side feels more sensitive than my right. I also occasionally experience what feels like slight muscle spasms under the skin in this area, but I get them occasionally on the right side also. One final thing, I do currently smoke cigarettes and I'm 19 (nearly 20). Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Hello vidviro

The sensation you describe might be a muscle or nerve pain.It is not possible to make a diagnosis over the Internet. It is unlikely to be a mouth cancer but you should see your doctor for an opinion. Do stop using tobacco, it can only do you harm.

Best wishes
