Sore bubbles/patches on roof of mouth

Hi, can you help....
It started with a few bubbles on the roof of my mouth which were rather sore. These have now disappeared and turned to really sore rough patches which are stopping me eating, and even drinking, if anything touches them it hurts like hell! I'm sure its nothing serious but was wondering what it is and what could have caused it as I don't remember burning my mouth or anything else unusual....?
Please can you help, any info would help.
Thanks V much.

Hi Ctork

You might well have burned the roof of your mouth--sometimes you don't notice the pain right away. If the sore rough patches haven't cleared up in a couple of days, it would probably be a good idea to see either your dentist or gp.

Always remember: if it hurts when you do that, DON'T DO THAT!

Let us know how things turn out.

Good Morning Ctork,
Greetings from the other side of the Pennines!
There are scores of reasons why we get lumps and bumps and sores etc. in the mouth and most of them either go away on their own or with a little help from the pharmacist but some of them require help from the doctor or dentist. Just once in a while we run up against something which really does need attention and it is not worth the risk to ignore it. The message is always the same....."if something unusual appears in the mouth and does not clear in three weeks see your dentist or doctor"
The problem is obviously troubling you and if you had not been worried about it you would not have contacted this website, for these reasons alone you should seek professional advice.
On a lighter note I worked for a company in Hazel Grove for twenty five years until retired in 2001. Someone found out I am a Tyke so I was deported to Mirfield.
Keep Smiling
John
