Hello Russ I have recently been given a new product from the hospital (presume only available on prescription) for scar reduction called "Dermatix" It's a silicone gel and reduces the redness and softens scar tissue. The distributor is ICN Pharmaceuticals Ltd in Basingstoke. I also use lashings of Aqueous cream to keep the area supple, it's very cheap from the chemist. There is also a couple of elastoplast-type tapes for softening scar tissue i.e. on the neck area - one is called Mepiform (Swedish) and the other Kinesio Tex (Japanese?) the latter acts as a gentle massage to soften hard bands of scar tissue (which I have from chin to trachy area). Hope this is of some help. Regards Brenda.
