Lump formed over the spot where my wisdom was removed and had dry socket.Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
I have been having a throbbing pain on the right side of my mouth, I know it initially started out from a cavity that had formed on the top of my mouth on the right side, a piece of the tooth broke off last summer, and I hadn't gone to the dentist because it didn't hurt. Now there is barely any tooth left, but I'm really worried. I don't know if I should be worried about the lump, it doesn't hurt and just seems like extra tissue. But in the past three days the pain has gotten pretty bad. I'm pretty freaked out after searching it up for a while and seeing so many of my symptoms are the same as mouth cancer. Please help

Hi KelseyMarie Have you been to the dentist about this? That's a great first step. It could be an infection, and it would probably be wise to have what's left of the tooth removed. Also, self-diagnosis by internet is not really a good idea, especially when you're scared. Please let us know how things turn out. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos!

Hello Kelsey As Julia says, please see your dentist. Julia, You were right,I went to the dentist this morning. It is an infection, and I have the choice of a root canal to two teeth or extraction on two. But I still don't understand why I have the lump in the back of my gum, he said it was irrelevant to the pain. A mind boggler, I guess. Even more right were you to say that self diagnosis by internet is not a good idea. Thanks for the responses.
