Dark Red Bump inside Cheek
 Login/Join
Posted
I just noticed a very dark red bump (blister?) in the inside of my cheek. It's roughly about a quarter of an inch wide. I don't think this has ever happened before. Sometimes, I'll bite the inside of my cheek, and I notice there is swelling or bumps, but this is different. There seem to be no other oddities within my mouth. I saw pictures of blood blisters, and although the pictures draw a resemblance, mine "blister" happens to be in my mouth.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could mean? Also, if I were to have it checked out, would I consult a doctor or dentist?

Hello Bianca

It is more than likely that you have chewed yourself a blood blister inside your cheek. Stop doing that by learning to keep your teeth apart and you should notice the blister disappear within the next 10 days or so. Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee

HI, after reading the reply the Dr gave you, I became curious, I also have a red blister type bump, resembles a blood blister but doesn't leak anything when popped, when it first appeared I thought I had bitten my cheek as well. My teeth on that side of my mouth are not able to meet anywhere near the bump, I am missing two upper on that side and have a crown where the bump is. I am concerned as well because I basically pulled the top off of it before and it came back within a week and has remained there. There is no pain, no softness, I would almost say it feels like a wart? Lost and confused.......

Hi Rainy

Austin, TX? I love your Lounge Lizards, but I digress...

Have you seen your dentist or gp about this? That would probably be a good first step.

Please let us know how this turns out.

Julia
