Good that he is out of surgery and giving a thumbs up, charly - how long was he actually in surgery for? You must feel completely wrung out. Try to get some sleep now and let us know how things are tomorrow.

Thinking of you both

When you see Nigel please tell him we are thinking about him. Made me think back to when I was in hospital with a trachy and had to write everything down; it was very frustrating - people (usually the very busy nursing staff) would ask me a question and then not wait for me to write my reply, but just answer for themselves! Tell Nigel I sympathise if that's what happens to him.

Hope you find everything you need to on the site and good luck with your meeting with the surgeon.

Do make sure to look after yourself as well!

Love

Gwyn

Hi Charly,
Just read about Nige's neck. That happened to me too while I was in the hospital, a hole just opened overnight and I was leaking disgusting brown gunge!. They ended up fitting a colostomy bag of all things over the hole to let all the stuff drain out. I think there are a few others here who have had the problem too. Unfortunately it can happen very easily, it's the nature of the area operated on.
It may take a while to heal but tell Nige to hang in there, it will do eventually.
SusieR. x

Hi Charly
I can remember clearly the panic I felt when, after picking up your original posts, I logged on and saw Nigel's picture!!! Not to mention Vinod's calm response!!!!
I was thrilled to read his (Nigel's) post, was it last week or the week before, saying he was having a great time in Thailand? Is he living there or picking up on a holiday cut short?
He has a great attitude and no doubt will continue to go from strength to strength. Please pass on our regards and congratulations for making it through the battlefield! Likewise to yourself. What a great support you have been for him. Well done, it's not an easy road.
Love
Deborah
