Hello,
I'm 24 year old male who has chewed since I was 19 or so moderately. Does the amount of time and amouth of chew you do increase your chances of oral cancer?? I understand that oral cancer is usually in older me, but I was wondering how long before cancer can develop??
Thanks

Paul,
I've always been told oral cancer was linked to heavy smoking & drinking and affected old people since I was first diagnosed!
But it's now starting to affect more & more young people! :yikes:

I suppose everyone has always associated cancer with old age and certain death!!

I'm sure your max fax team could explain better!

When I was in hospital I was on a ward of about 98% pensioners! and I was the youngest by a mile.

HI, Yes Steve, I was the youngest by far on my ward(42).
The alarming thing is they could have caught it along time before but because of my age the GP and other GP's in the Surgery I saw weeks and weeks before diagnosed never thought it was Cancer.
It was not until it spread to my neck did I get the help I NEEDED many months before.
I am bitter now mainly becuse of all the after effect I have and still are going through.
I do hope you are feeling a bit better.
