Bumps inside lower lipGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
I just recently noticed that there are two small bumps inside my lower lip. I can feel them with my tounge when I stretch out my lip (with tounge). I inspected the area in the mirror and don't see any bums/pimples or discoloration, so they seem to be somewhat under the skin. When I try to feel for the bumps with my finger, I hardly notice them to the touch. There's no pain/mucus/irritation assiciated with them, which is why I probably just now noticed them. What could this be?

Hello User204 The bumps are probably minor salivary glands or Fordyce granules. Ask your dentist at your next visit. Let us know how you get on. I have the same bumps under my lips. There are no signs in the outside of my skin or any signs on the outside. I went to my regular doctor and she told me that they are a result of the muscles in my mouth with the fat deposits. This creates small bumps in my mouth and I just never noticed them before. The bumps showed up in my mouth 4 months ago and seem to be spreading in my mouth. Should I be concerned about that??? I am going to contact a specialist tomorrow.

I have the exact thing. Two bumps on each side of my lower lip. when I use my tongue and play with or put pressure on it for a while my lip gets a tingly feeling. I am nervous because I was a lite tobacco chewer for 8 years (maybe a can per week) and I have never noticed this before. now that I have quit I have just noticed them and I can't stop playing with them. I have gone to the dentist regularly and have never been told there was any damage due to chewing I was always told looks great.....I am curious if this is a normal with gland issues.
