Good afternoon Michelle, you are quite right on two points, you should give up smoking and if you are really worried you should see your doctor.Next time you reach for a fag ask yourself if you need it as much as your children need their mum! There are quite a lot of reasons why lumps appear in the mouth, most of the lumps are easily dealt with by medication and only a very small percentage will turn out to be cancer.BUT DON'T LET THIS PUT YOU OFF SEEING YOUR DOCTOR ON MONDAY. whatever the problem is it will need sorting out and the sooner the better, if only to stop you worrying. On Sunday take the children along to Heaton park and enjoy their antics for an hour or two. Let us know how you get on at the doctors. Keep Smiling John | ||||

Hello Michelle It is too early to be thinking about a cancer! The lump is probably an enlargement of a minior salivary gland or sebaceous gland owing to trauma through lip nibbling by a stressed mum. Have a good weekend and stop biting on it. Let us know what you doctor says. Also ask him about help with smoking cessation.
