Hello.... I have had a history of tonsiliths and about three weeks ago I had one on each tonsil. or so I thought. the left came out, but the right seemed to hang out. So I checked it out in the mirror and noticed a very small skin colored raised lump. No pain. I can't even feel it when I'm drinking or eating.
I went to my internist today and say the NP and she said it didn't look concerning and to keep an eye on it. If it doesn't go away in three to four weeks, she said to go to my ent. Which is fine, but I've already had it for three weeks! She was not reassuring even though she did say she didn't think it was anything.
I guess it still bothers me because she didn't give it a name and she said there was nothing I could do for the minor discomfort that I have. Being, it feels like I have a tonsil stone. ANY advise!?

Follow your instincts and go to your ENT, especially if you've had this for three weeks. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but it's really best to err on the side of caution and get your tonsils checked out.

Hi Julia, Thanks for your concern.. I went to the ENt today and he said it is an embeded tonsil stone that has not surfaced and may never... He suggested that I have a tonsilectomy.
Not sure about that!
