I have a small white bump on my gums just above the tooth line. It is small, less than 1.5mm. It is round and a whitish color. I have been to two dentists who did not seem to concerned over it. After pointing it out to one dentist and expressing MY concern about it, he said it was nothing and to just keep an eye on it to make sure that it did not turn red around it.
At first this was a great relief...but he could not tell me what it was and now that is beginning to concern me. Neither dentist could tell me what they were. Is it something that I should have removed? I also have one right next to my upper labial frenum at the very top of my gums. That one is slightly larger, about 2 to 2.5 mm in size.
Any ideas of what these could be so I could research them a bit more? Should I ask if they can be removed? Or I am becoming more of a hypochondriac?
Thank you so much for your time and sorry to bother you even though my dentists have not been concerned. I just prefer to be informed. I know you cannot give an exact diagnosis but if I have a direction to research I might be able to come to an idea of what they are.

Sorry! Tried for a pic but it is either too small or I lack the equiptment. I am traveling home this weekend and am going to try and ask the dentist I had while I was growing up. He put in the implant that is in the region as well. I'll let you know if I find something...
