I have about 4 of them, oral specialist surgeon saw them and told me they might be enlarged minor salivary glands or enlarged lymph nodes. I had one enlarged minor salivary gland taken out 2 years ago from the other side of the lip and it showed no cancer. He told me to use lip balm on my lip as my lower lip was a bit cracked. He told me because my lip gets dried out easily bacteria can enter through the lip and cause the lymph nodes to enlarge.
Can dried out lip cause something like this? Or is there people whose minor salivary glands are a bit larger or get larger cause of genetics? One last question: Is there a way to determine if it is an enlarged small salivary gland or an inflamed lymph node?(without surgery) |
