white round lump in back top of throatGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
Only yesterday I felt like there was something in the back of my throat. Today I still felt it so I decided to look in the mirror. I noticed a small white bump and I tried poking it with a q-tip and appears to be quite soft. Do you have any ideas what it might be or what I should look for. I have no pain nor swelling in my mouth or throat and this is the first time this has happened. I am 25 years old and I this is making me terrified.

Hi balkark It might be a 'tonsil stone'. Have a look at these posts about whitish lump. Also do a search of the Q&A section for the word 'lump at back of throat' and 'tonsil' as some of the answers might be relevant. Hope that helps stop you worrying. Do see your doctor about it for a diagnosis. Let us know what it is. Balkark, I just wanted to say, I'm 25, and I have something that sounds very similar. My doctor seems to think it's infected tonsil tissue left over from when I had my tonsils taken out. Make sure you go to the gp about it though, better to be safe then sorry!
