lump on jawbone...please answerGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
i have had this hard bony unmovable lump on my right jawbone buccal side for about seven months now. It was right under a severly decayed molar six year. I was just to the oral surgeon on Thursday to have the tooth and the one right beside it which had been root canaled years ago removed. Well the lump is still there despite the sugury and the antibiotic that I am still taking. It there ANY chance this could be a more serious problem? He did a pan xray and didn't seem alarmed by what he saw, but why would it still bes there? I pretty concerned at this point....

It is most probably a bony reaction to the chronic infection from the teeth. The lump should remodel gradually over the next few years; meanwhile stop bothering it. If it bothers you, ask your surgeon about it. Let me know what he says.
