I'm 15 - burning bump on left side of mouth??

Alright, so, I'm a fifteen year old girl and for about a year now, once a month or so the left side of my mouth, right beside the jaw and under the chin - it isn't visible but you can feel it... but it inflames with a burning pain and I have to swallow a lot to dull it. It goes away after a day or so, but it's really annoying and it hurts for me to open my mouth or eat. Does this make sense? I want it to go awaaaaay!

Hi Becky

Your best bet is to go and see your local doctor or dentist and tell him (or her)the symptoms. With the exception of a few, this forum is frequented by "ordinary" people and are as such are not qualified to diagnose your complaint. We can however sympathise and advise.
Whenever you notice something strange in your body, make somebody aware of it as to leave things too long to see if they get better may be too late! However I don't encourage you running off to the local GP at every runny nose that you get Wink

Good Luck - Pete

yes, but I've already told my family doctor about the pain, and she didn't really do anything about it. But the pain has increased since I made this topic, and I can actually see the shape of a bump beside my jaw line. I know it probably has nothing to do with cancer, but all of a sudden I have a reeeeaally big headache and.. haha, I don't know. Maybe I'll just go to bed.

Well I can only advise that if it does continue, you return to see the family doctor - especially if you can now see something!
