Risk after Quitting

Hello everyone I'm new here, I found this site because something has been bothering me lately so bear with me here.

I used to chew tobacco, I quit a little over 2 years ago and haven't had a dip since. The main reason I quit was the health risks mainly cancer. I've been to my dentist a few times since then and he says I'm good. Lately I've been haveing what i feel in an irrational fear, but I need to hear what people have to say anyways. This situation pretty sums up what it is...

Some of my friends have recently started chewing and I we were all hanging out the other night and they were chewing and spitting on the ground. Without paying attention I walked right through where they were spitting. Since then I haven't been able to touch my shoes or touch something that touched my shoes without wanting to wash my hands. The reason being that I am nervous that some of the chew with somehow get on my hand and then if I eat or whatever it will go to my mouth, Like I said it seam irrational to me but I can't shake it right now. Is it possible to "accidently" get cancer through the way I just described? I freaked out the other night, so if someone could give me an honest answer I would appreciate it.

Dr. Joshi any thought? I'm not asking for a diagnosis online or anything. Just a medical opinion. I will ask my dentist when I see him, but thats not until the end of Oct and I wanted something to keep me satisfied until then.

Cancer is not infectious, you can't just catch it that way. But I suggest you wash/clean your shoes and watch what you step on! Smiler
