Dr. Joshi is it possible that these 'sores' I have in my mouth are minor salivary glands you have described on other threads on this message board. My symptoms sound similar to those of 'aussie bloke' (please see my other thread 'please help me' to see the symptoms) The 'sores' aren't painful and they tend to flare up and settle down at different points of the day. They haven't grown in size, don't bleed and there are no sores in any other parts of my mouth. What is it that causes the 'minor salivary glands' disorder? If I had that info then I think it would give me some peace of mind, I'm only 23 and although I know that with being a smoker I am at more of a risk of contracting cancer than a non-smoker, I've been told by the doctor that it is unlikely because of my age. As I have said in my other thread I have suffered from Oral Lichen Planus before now, which oten flares up from time to time. Since last May I've suffered from Tonsilitis several times and so (I hope this doesn't sound presumptious) I believe that my immune system will have been affected particularly in the oral area. Please give me some peace of mind if you can!

Hi Katy

You need to see your dentist about your problem. If he can't help you, he can refer you on to a specialist if necessary.

Best wishes
