I have a large lump on the roof of my mouth. It is not discolored but is very sore and it hurts to eat or even when my tongue is just touching it. It is about an inch from front to back and an inch side to side. I noticed it about a week ago and it might be growing. No other real symptoms. Is this something I should go to the doctor for and if so dentist or family practitioner?

Hi Danielle
While not every lump, bump, pain or blister in your mouth is cancer, it's ALWAYS a good idea to have your doctor or dentist check it out. If none of your doctors can give you an answer, don't give up--"I don't know" isn't a medical diagnosis. Get started as soon as possible. Please let us know how things turn out for you. Hello Danielle
Please see your dentist for a proper diagnosis. Let us know how you get on.
