I will, lol, I have a ton of questions, hoping that some of you will have a answer to them. The skin graft site. I have about 12 sores that will not heal on this. The doc says it looks great, there goes that word again==GREAT===. However I cannot understand why this has not healed yet. My legs were not radiated so why is it taking so long for this to heal? Next question. The feeding tube?? Why is there this mucous looking stuff coming out from around the hole, once again I have asked the doc, says it is normal, however it hardens then it is painful. So I try to wipe the hard stuff away so it won't hurt to move. The leg where the bone was taken,, the foot and ankle swell so big, oh my, does it hurt when it does. It is strange to me that it isn't like that all the time. Hum? Any ideas or suggestions let me hear them, please. Always, Vicki Lynn

Hi Vicki

I don't know the anwers to your questions, but here's an intelligent guess  .

Most ulcers are caused by infection or poor blood supply (as in pressure sores). They tend to heal with time but need to be looked after.

Your leg could swell owing a disruption of the venous and lymph drainage following the surgery; this should improve somewhat as collateral (alternative circulation is developed). Meanwhile, it would be a good idea to do some physiotherapy to help the ciculation.Keeping your leg propped up, using gravity to assist drainage, might also help. It would also avoid the pooling of fluid in the legs that occurs towards the end of a long day of being up on your feet.

Your doctor and physiotherapist should be able to offer more specific guidance.

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:
