| Good Evening Chris, I trust you had a pleasant Christmas and I wish you well in the new year.Sorry I missed your posting until now. This problem with taste seems to vary from person to person and as Pauline says radiation makes the problem a whole lot worse. The taste buds go on strike after oral surgery and when they start working again they work in a different way which leads to things tasting different. After 21 months I think my sense of taste is 50 or 60% of Pre op.Having said this I think part of the improvement is probably me getting used to the new conditions.A lot of the flavour in food is released by chewing (chewing?? what's that?)I eat more Indian food than I used to,because of the extra powerfull taste sensation and I find that red wine from the top shelf doesn't taste so much better than the stuff from the bottom shelf and until 2 years ago I could tell you which shelf the wine came from, first, second and each one up to the top: I suppose I am saving money on this.Remember Winston Churchill's motto "KBO".......keep b--gering on Keep Smiling John |
