Hello,

I am a 30 y/o male w/ a history of heavy drinking and smoking as a teenager. I have quit drinking and smoking for 10 years now but occasionally smoke cigars.

A month or so ago I noticed a small lump in the roof of my mouth (hard / soft palate area) and decided to go to the Dr. He had me get a CT Scan and an MRI that both showed nothing. I now have 2 lumps on the roof of my mouth and he now wants me to go see a surgon this Firday.

The lumps are smooth and somewhat hard under the skin. They do not hurt or anything. You can not see them but you can feel them with your finger.

At first I was not too concerned. Now, after the second lump, I am.

Does this sound similar to any type of cancer that you have seen or heard of?

Regards,

Pat

Hello Pat

The CAT scan and MRI both showed nothing Big Grin , and oral cancers don't usually come in twos. It usuallly is just one lump that grows bigger and becomes painful.

It is difficult to know what it may be that you are describing. Possibilities are (1) normal anatomy that you have just discovered Smiler , (2) a soft tissue growth (scratching my head, here Confused ), or a bone exostoses.

Let the surgeon have a look, and let us know what he finds out. If it helps you pass the time worrying less, """I suspect it is not a cancer."""

Best wishes

Vinod :coffee:
