Hi there, we are not sure how much to worry, but during a scope in ENT, the doctor located a white patch at the back of my husband's tongue and he was prescribed anti fungal tablets. As, 7 weeks later this had not cleared, upon a follow up appt, my husband now awaits an urgent biopsy. He hasn't smoked for 18 years and drinks only moderately. The doctor said he 'Didn't think it was anything...' but all the urgency and drama has really scared us. Can anyone help or advise? Many thanks indeed.

Hello Anita
Very few leukoplakia lesions are mouth cancers but some are. So it is just better to be prudent and do a biopsy to confirm that there isn't anything to worry about. Hope that helps. Thank you for your reply, Vinod. That's reassuring, but we probably won't rest completely until the biopsy comes back negative. Best wishes, Anita.
