Hi, im a little concerned about a small lump i've had in the back of my throat for some time now and was wondering if anyone had any ideas what it might be. Its located on the left hand side just behind my back teeth and is soft to touch and not painful in anyway. i noticed a while ago that from time to time i would spit up these small yellow lumps that were soft and smelled bad. i later found that this yellow gunk was in fact coming from the lump. if i squeeze the lump then this yellow stuff comes out and over a week or so slowly builds up again. like i said the lump is not painful and has been there for as long as i can remember. just hoping someone can put my mind at rest or at the very least let me know if i'm some kind of mutant.

It is probably a tonsil stone. Please have a read through these past discussions about tonsil stones which will explain them. Do see your doctor about it. Let us know how you get on.
