Hi...I noticed a large lump on my gum yesterday and wanted to get some feedback on what might be causing it before my dentist appointment.

I've had an on and off toothache in the same area for about 2 weeks now so I'm hoping it's an abcess and not a tumor.

The lump is hard, about as large as a pea, and is very tender to the touch.

I'm 24 years old and have been smoking for about 6 years now.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

The best advice you will get here is get it checked out,and don't try to anticipate the diagnosis.

We have a great saying on this forum,"It ain't cancer till somebody says so" so try not to worry and get to the dentists asap.
