I had my tongue totally removed over 2 years ago and was able to eat soup post op but after radiotherapy I couldn't any longer. Now I rely on PEG only but can manage to drink tea, coffee and beer. Soup is difficult unless its very thin because of the amount of spit that is always in my mouth. Any suggestions for 'thinning saliva' and neutralising constant taste in my mouth.

Hello Jane

You will find the discussions on Mucodyne helpful.

You might also find the tips and suggestions in the MCF's Easy to Swallow cookbook helpful.

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee
