Yesterday I got a lump on the roof of my mouth. What is it?Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
I am 25 years old and yesterday I noticed a lump along the roof of my mouth. Before that I attempted to eat earlier in the afternoon and felt this horrible pain at the back of my mouth on the roof. I coulnd't swallow and then after the pain later that night I noticed the lump. It is a little sore to the touch. It's along the left side of the roof and spans about three teeth back. There is a very small one on the right side. Please let me know if you have any ideas on what it can be. I quit smoking a couple weeks ago after smoking for almost 8 years. The night before I was at the Hawk's hockey game and was drinking alcohol. Thank you for your time. I've been looking online and can't seem to pin point my symptoms.

Did you ever receive any posts about this. I just got the same thing three days ago (large lump on the left and smaller on the right). Painful and it started in the back of my throat the first day. Thanks

Hello Stefani and Kurt You need to ask your doctors about your problems. It is not possible to diagnose a complaint without proper examination and investigation. While it is good to be aware of the signs of mouth cancer and not leave things till late, do understand that most discomforts in the mouth and throat are related to infections that get better in about three weeks, and often lumps discovered are natural anatomy or related to the infection. See: Examination Technique with Normal Findings and Structures Mistaken for Disease for pictures of normal appearances. Hope that helps. Do stop smoking and be restrained with alcohol if you drink.
