thanks for your opinion Anthony.
To be honest, I don't really worry or think about it that much as I tend to believe the dentist because franky, I don't know anything oral things so I don't want to question him on matters he knows better by far. Basically I don't want to spend life chasing ghosts. I'll be keeping regular appointments and take it from there. In my opinion, life's too precious to worry and our bodies are so complicated anyway that on any second something might go wrong, so I tend to try to enjoy life as much as possible while I'm still (hopefully) healthy. But needless to say, I'll be still keeping my mind on the nodule and any change in size or feel of it will result in another appointment / additional checks. Until then, god save us from internet selfdiagnosis. On internet everything is cancer |

Hello Elmosfire,
Have been reading your posts. Whilst it true what you say about chasing ghosts, the fact is that no-one can categorically tell you what the lump is unless it is looked at under a microscope. If it were me I would be asking my dentist to make sure it is nothing and then get on with my life instead of having the doubts lurking in the background. A lot of people on here have been told they had nothing to worry about and then later told they have. Not trying to scare you but "if in doubt, check it out". L o L Joan x |

hi joan,
i guess your opinion is correct indeed. the reasoning behind my logic is that based on the way my last appointment went, i'm rather confident in what the dentist said because he did take time to look at it slowly, didn't dismiss me, and in the end even told me a story about the biggest salivary gland stone he encountered, which, i must say, was rather comforting because i did get the feeling that he knew what he was doing. of course i do hope he's right and that it's nothing serious but since, as i said, i know absolutely nothing about oral things, i still ask here for the opinion because there's always a shadow of the doubt. so what will happen next? well, i'll keep my mind and eye at it, that's for sure and if i notice it growing or any discomfort i'll take further actions. until then i'll just have to live my life and hope for the best |
