I had a pointed tiny lump on the roof of my mouth for about 6 months. It was painless and didnt get any bigger. Few days ago I brushed it off. Now it's gone. But I am still very worried that it might be something cancerous. Here are a few questions:

(1) Someone said if that tiny lump was cancerous, I wouldn't have been able to brush it off. Is it right?

(2) I heard of something called 'Brush biopsy'. I have approached a few dentists and oral surgeons but none of them perform that kind of biopsy. I would like to know how I can find a dentist or oral surgeon who will do that. I am in bay area, California.

(3) Is the brush biopsy reliable?

I would think that if your tiny lump was cancerous, you wouldn't have been able to brush it off .

The Brush Biopsy appears reliable. The Eastman Dental Institute's FAQs make the case for it . The Oral CDx website explains the procedure with pictures. You can also see the Oral CDX Brush Biopsy in action on NBC Channel 4 News

You could try your local telephone directory to find a dentist who does the brush biopsy .
