Metatastic Spinal Cord Compression anyone?

Has anyone here had Metastic Spinal Cord Compression and survived - or know of anyone who has?
I made the fatal mistake of googling my symptoms and I could have that!!! Yikes!! Now I'm petrified! I've e-mailed my oncologist to see what he thinks - he'll probably just think I'm a hypocondriac!
Any words of comfort out there?
Thanks
Vicky

My oncologist just replied to me saying he thinks it's L'Hermittes Syndrome - which sounds much better.
Is it the first sign of madness, replying to oneself?

Good grief Vicky! I just Wiki'd it and see that it's also called Barber's Chair phenomenon. Who knew it?

The article is easy to understand.

Good luck to you - as someone on TV said recently, "If it isn't one thing, it's your mother."

Hi Mimi!
Thanks for that! Apparently it can be a rare side effect of rt to the neck, so hopefully nothing too sinister. I found a google group where everyone appeared have it - safety in numbers! What surprised me was how easilly frightened I was, I thought I was made of sterner stuff than that, but as metastic spinal compression is terminal, I really panicked. Pathetic really. Anyhow, I can live with this and apparently it will wear off gradually. I would like an MRI scan though, just to put my mind at rest, but I don't think I'll get one.
Hope you're having a good day and feeling well.
Vicky x
