hi, i know you all have said to go have this looked at and i am, but i just need some info from you guys as to what may cause this good or bad just to relieve some of my worries until i go to peridontis next tues.i have been getting really no answers whatsoever from my dentists, other thant go have it checked and than they never elaborate as to what it is, being a spit tobacco user and smoker most of my adult life has me more concerned now than when i was younger. always with the outlook of that would never happen to me. well did it..thats the answer i guess searching for now and i hope cause of my stubborness and the dentists somewhat carefree approach that it isnt to late.
i know every time i write i say to myself you kn ow these people probably think i am a true jackass, that i probably am but if i am not pushed i dont do anything about it. |

Hi Bucket
I would suggest that you arrange to see a maxillofacial surgeon, not a periodontist (gum disease specialist). The lesion you describe appears to fit the description of Erythroplakia, which needs to be biopsied. It is easily treatable but two years have gone by :banghead: ! Yes, I am pushing you! Keep us informed. Best wishes Vinod :coffee: Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice.
