Hello, i'm already worried sick so please do write if you have any opinion. For some time i've been having soft moveable lump on the jawline underneath my wisdom tooth, directly at the bottom of the jawline, above the floor of the mouth. you really have to push your finger into mouth to feel it. first, i've thought it's abscess or a cyst and i went to tthe dentist and she said she can't see anything pathological and that i'm fine. anyway, 5-6 moths passed and lump was still there (hasnt grown to my knowledge) and i've noticed that next to it inside the skin next to the jawline i can feel soft growth (i suppose it could be gland or node) but i've notice that i don't have it on the other side next to the same tooth. (last wisdom tooth). these two growths are not connected but are close. so my idea was that the tooth is somehow infected even though it doesn't hurt and gland/node got enlarged due to infection... so i went again to see my dentist and she this time she took a picture of the are, prodded it with finger but couldn't find anything and said she still thinks it absolutely nothing wrong and that i wait for 2-3 weeks to see what will happen and let her know. Needless to say i'm totally scared to death. Does anyone have an opinion? both lump are pretty painless except that the one in the skin is irritated now that i've been touching it. I can feel that it's connected through some sort of vein or something... Is it normal that glands/nodes are not placed symmetricaly under the jawline so this could be normal? Thanks for answer, any answer, because fear and anxiety have been killing me...This message has been edited. Last edited by: Rodrigo,

Hello Rodrigo Our body is not symmetrical and the two sides of the body are not mirror images of one another. So, yes the lump could be a normal lymph node or salivary gland that caught your attention and is now irritated by the prodding. My advice would be that you ask your dentist for a referral to a maxillofacial surgeon for a second opinion as I suspect only that would take away the worry that has been bothering you for the last 6 months. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes Vinod Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice. thank you dr. joshi. i didn't know what specialist would be the proper one. i'll wait until the soreness passes and go to the dentists again. i was planning to at least visit another dentist for second opinion... anyway, i've been touching these two lumps yesterday and i've seem to have noticed that the watery movable one on the jawline (bottom of the lower jawline underneath the wisdom tooth, to the right next to the tongue but completely under. it can't be seen without a mirror) is connected to the one in skin with some sort of vein or artery that goes along the jawline. what coudl this be then? here is it how it feels like under under my finger... i'm feeling a bit at ease now because it doesn't really sound like anything i've read about mouth cancer... do you have any, even vague idea? thanks a lot once again! this forum is trully fantastic...

Hello Rodrigo I am sorry but it is just not possible to give you a specific diagnosis over the Internet. If you are very worried, I suggest that you ask your dentist for an earlier appointment.
