Hard Bump Below Molar
 Login/Join

Hi,
I found a hard bony bump which doesn't hurt or bleed or nothing on the lower left side of my gums towards the cheek side two days ago. I found it by accident as I had felt a blister on the cheek right next to it, which was filled with clear fluid, which I burst! That's when I saw the lump cause i was pulling my cheek to burst the blister!
So now I'm worried about it. I had just been to the dentist 3 days prior and feel emabrassed to go back so soon as I am known to be a hypochondriac. But this is real.
I can feel it sticking out from just under one of my molars and is oval shaped, smooth and about 1cm long. The tooth above it seems to have a tiny chip, maybe a hole which is slightly yellow in colour.
When i press on it, it goes white as the blood leaves the area and also when I pull the cheek.
I do want to mention I have been told I have herpes simplex.
Any suggestions? Could it be an infection that doesn't hurt or cancer or just the roots?
I have also noticed in the last 6 months that my lower teeth seemed to have moved toward the side of where this bump is now. Dentist said that teeth move with old age!!!

Please help

Orion...

You need not be embarrassed about returning to the dentist! My goodness... just call and say you've noticed something else different that wasn't discovered until after your appointment. People who are aware of their bodies, its systemic processes, and in tune with even subtle changes... I would describe them as SMART and proactive... not hypochondriacs. So, relieve your mind, Orion... Call today and get another appointment.

Be sure to post an update so we'll all know how things turn out. Also, read the posts on this site written by Robert. He'll tell you about "PMA". (It's empowering!)

From my heart,

Melanie

Hello Orion

You may find my reply to KelB about hard lump on top gum useful. It is probably not a mouth cancer but please see your dentist about it. Let us know what it turns out to be.

Best wishes

Hi,
thanx for your replies, I suppose I'm looking for online answers as the gp's and dentists dont ever seem to do anything, and by the way, I went backto the dentist and he said it's just the root!!
So I guess Im sick of being told its nothing and not to worry when I know its something and do worry.
Ive been to over 20 different gp's in the last 6 months so its not a question of going elsewhere, they all say the same thing just by looking at me!

But thanx anyway.
