Hi all Been reading for a while, decided its time to say hello. Well I had these white spots on my tongue and went in for a biopsy yesterday, supposedly straight forward procedure, but after it was done,(under local anasthetic) I went very faint and nauseaus, apparently I passed out in theatre and began fitting,It was avery frightening experienc especially as I had another one after which I was awarer of. they thought it could have been a reaction to the lignocaine? anyhow I'm back at home now, still struggling to eat, drink, and talk, but getting there. I would like to know if anyone else had any experience like this after their anaesthetic. BTW I have had local anasthetic before for other things but never reacted to it like this Thanks to anyone who reads this SUE.

Hi Sue Sorry to hear about the difficulties you've had with the biopsy. The problems with eating, drinking and talking could have more to do with the procedure itself than with the anesthetic, since they did take a piece of your tongue. My biopsy trouble was all at the front end: I have a really strong gag reflex, so it took a frustratingly long time to get my tongue numbed adequately. It's also a stressful experience, so that should be taken into account too. Keep us informed on how things turn out. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos!
