Urk, went to the doctors yesterday about what I thought were the normal circumvallate papillae. I discovered these lumps a few weeks ago and thought I should get them checked out by the doctor. (I am a 41 yr old female, history of hpv about 20 years ago)
He reassured me it didn't look like cancer but referred me to a specialist at the Queens Medical Centre. I called for an appointment and they said it may take up to 13 weeks to see someone. Obviously I am panicking (because he mentioned cancer) and wondered what will happen when I visit the hospital? Thanks so much in advance. |

Hello Mouthy
Your doctor said it didn't look like cancer and so did not fast track you to be seen. That should be reassuring. Meanwhile, watch the lumps. If they grow bigger or get sore and hurt, go back to your GP and get a second opinion and if required an appointment with the specialist in the hospital in under 2 weeks (cancer fast track service). Hope that helps. Best wishes Vinod Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice. Thanks very much for that.
Any idea what they may be looking for if it is not cancer? |
