I have recently found two lumps in my mouth in the left side, near to where my tonsils once were.
I have smoked since the age of 13 and i am now 23.
Is this somthing to worry about? I am scared because a year ago I had an infection in my left gum which the dentist could not identify so he refered me to the hospital because I still had a swollen lump in my mouth. The consultant said he dould find nothing wrong but didn't know my I still had a lump. I had another appointment but did not attend as the lump had gone. Three months ago the left side of my face swelled up and I was told I had a rare infection in the a saliva duct but, although rare it could happen. Im worried because I have smoked for 10yrs and drunk for 7 that I may have cancer caused by these factors. Is it possible I have cancer caused by drinking and smoking at such a young age?

Hi Jennifer

You should go and see your dentist or doctor for an opinion and if necessary a referral back to the hospital consultant. It is probably a chronic salivary gland infection but you need to get a definite diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
:alert: Do not ignore it :alert:

Do let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
