I had a small about 1/2 a cm lump in my right cheek - the dentist looked at it and refered me to the hospital. A week later it was 1 and a half cm's so i went back to the dentist and ended up the same day at the hospital. They ruled out parotid gland issues and sent me for an x ray. They suggested i had a tooth out and a biopsy on the lump. Had that done yesterday - tooth out no problem, when they did the biopsy they did say some pus came out so they sampled that and also sampled the tissue and then took a sample fromt he socket where the tooth came out.
i asked what they thought and they simply said see you in two weeks for the results.
My head tells me that the pus that came out indicates an infection causes by the tooth - is that possible ? I am so very very worried
please help

I can really understand how you are feeling.I had a biopsy on my tongue on Monday and have to wait two weeks for the result as well.
It's difficult with all sorts of different thoughts going through your head isn't it?The important thing to remember is they are on top of things and whatever it turns out to be will be able to be treated.
It's all the uncertainty isn't it thats difficult to deal with. Have you told your family and friends about the tests? I haven't told my parents but have told some friends which I found has helped while you are waiting.Try and keep busy doing other things which I have found has helped me?
Keep us all updated and I will have my fingers crossed that everything will turn out ok for you.

Just noticed you are from Manchester! I had the biopsy done at Wythenshawe Hospital and go for the results at The Christie Hospital.Just got the date through which is the 30th March @ 8.40am....can't come soon enough!

thank you for replying i really appreciate it. yes i am from manchester - i went to wythenshawe on monday but that was as an emergency referal from my dentis - went back yesterday for the biopsy and tooth out. I get my results back at wythenshawe on 31st. I am actually going away on holiday tomorrow - now you would think that would make me feel better but it doesnt and i sort of want to cancel but then i would be dissapointing others and what good would cancelling be !!

have told a couple of friends but only told my mum that it was a tooth out
