Ear infection due tro R/T?

I've had an ear infection n and off since mid R/T treatment i suppose.
I've had drops and antibiotics but this last infection is really persistant and wont shift. Every night my ear leaks smelly pus ad the past week there's been some blood on my pillow. My G.P has reffered me to E.N.T (oh joy) Given my "history" he wants to cover himself and says there no more he can do about it.
He did suggest that the R/T could possibly have thinned the skin in the ear canal making it prone to infection? As my ears were the most burnt area treated.
Anyone else experienced this? The itching is driving me mad! & i've been told i should put nothing in my ear that's smaller than my elbow *lol.
Any advice until my appointment comes through?
Thanks,
Michelle

Hi Chelle,
I am completely deaf in my left ear. This happened about 3 months after rt. I have seen an ENT chap and he says I have fluid in my ear which will go after he has fitted a grommet.
This takes about 20 mins under local anasthetic.
My ears were burnt pretty badly so I presume there must be some connection.

Strangely enough one of my ears (right) was burnt in the area where it attaches to the side of the head.I didn't feel any discomfort because my neck dissection RHS had made all that area numb (small mercy?)
I had nothing severe occur in my ear canal tho'.

Thanks guys!
Just another of the obscure side effects we aren't warned about *lol.
Tony, that's just where mine was most sore too!
I didn't put my skin gel on that bit as i didn't know that bit would be effected until it was too late!
Thanks again to you both.
Michelle

I forgot to put the cream behind my ear, as I didn't realise until too late that thec skin there would be affected. I will never fprget the way that the skin peeled away. It was horible! After that the skin got infected. Eventually it healed up, but I would not have liked it to be somewhere really visible

I'm with you Jenni!
The rest of my neck & sides of my face went very red, and had, perhaps, got a little dry in places. But the skin behind my ears cracked and bled a little. & that was emphasised by the Radiographers pulling my ear to have a look *lol & going "ooo, that does look sore" YEAH THANKS! *lol Roll Eyes
